The longtime children’s ‘Sesame Street’ program
returns to TV on Jan. 16.
The premium cable network dropped a new trailer for
the classic children’s series on Thursday, which
features famous faces who have appeared on the
program in the past, including Jon Hamm, Pharrell Williams, Tina Fey, Usher, Gwen Stefani and Tracee Ellis Ross.
In the minute-long trailer, Sesame Street fans watch their favorite cartoon characters Ernie, Burt, Abby
Cadabby, Elmo, Count von Count, Oscar the Grouch,
Cookie Monster, Big Bird and more play along with
celebrities in the HBO teaser. “On January 16, an all-new season of Sesame Street brought to you by the letters H-B-O,” the trailer’s
text reads. The new season will feature both new
and classic episodes at its new home. On Aug, 13, Sesame Street inked a five-season deal with the cable network which allows the iconic kids’
franchise to deliver nearly twice as much new
content per season. PBS will air the new episodes
nine months after they first run on HBO.
